The guardian critiqued Ella Mai with the potential to be an authentic R&B star but also mentioned that the album was refreshing and could "cut through a scene full of trap beats and emo rap."

Some fans have also said with confidence that Ella Mai is the new face of R&B but some fans beg to differ.

In addition to the good reviews and critiques, her debut album peaked at number 18 on the billboard charts according to officialcharts.com

Since the soundtrack of the movie featuring Lady Gaga entitled A Star is Born and other albums that came out in the same week such as Quavo’s from the Migos 1st solo album Ella Mai’s album didnt chart well over all.
