This years Black Girls Rock was an eventful one. Hosted by Queen Latifah, this years celebratation honored 6 phenomenal black women who really rocked.
Honorees included Janet Jackson, Naomi Campbell, Judith Jamison, Lena Waite, Mary J. Blige, and Tarana Burke.
Janet receiving the rock star award, Naomi the Black Girl Magic Award, Living Legend Award went to dancer and musician Judith Jamison, Shot Caller award to actress and writer Lena Waithe, Star Power Award to Mary J Blige and Community Change Agent to Tarana Burke.
Also Honored was the legendary Aretha Franklin with a 12 minute long tribute by many singers including Cynthia Erivo, Jazmine Sullivan, Ledisi the one and only Yolanda Adams and more.
This is year was the 11th Annual Black Girls Rock Ceremony to but the original show debuted on television back in 2010.
Other performances include Tamia singing her hit song "So into you" and her new song "Leave it smoking" and H.E.R performing Make it Rain.
Separate from the tribute, Fantasia shut the stage down with a tribute of her own on the black girls rock stage singing the famous song "Respect" and more.
Lastly the show was concluded with happy faces and souls filled with joy as Queen Latifah ended the show.
