Beyoncé Takes over Vogue and Makes History

By: Sade Reeves

The queen has been booked and busy. Once again Beyoncé is making history by taking over the September Vogue photo shoot. Vogue is allowing Beyoncé to have full control over which photos are used to what the captions will say. Beyoncé has been on multiple Vogue covers, including international Vogue covers but this will be the first time she has full control on what will be on the cover and what will be said. This will be Beyoncé first time appearing on the cover since 2015.

What makes this vogue cover even more significant is that Beyoncé picked a young black 23-year-old, up and coming photographer to shoot her pictures. His name is Tyler Mitchell, and this will be the first time in 126 years since a black photographer has shot a cover for Vogue magazine. Beyoncé has always been known for using her power and influence to give other black artist an opportunity to be in the spot light and grow their brand. Now everyone is sure to remember Tyler Mitchell's name and this exposure will really

jump start his career.
